I woke up to snow again, almost 6 inches. Now it's 12 hours later and it's almost melted away. It looked so good this morning I took out my digital camera and took a couple of pictures.
Spent most of the day in the house. Made a fire, wrote letters that were long due, made a huge pot of leak and potato soup. Do you know that Lowes had the nerve to charge $3.99 for two leaks. I couldn't believe it! If I wasn't with my husband I would have gone next door to Harris Teeter to see if I could get a better deal. What a rip off. They are just onions for crying out loud.
Now that I got that off my chest. I'm thinking about doing a new blog. One thought is previewing it as "The First Jewish Mother Missionary to the Nations. The other is "Mothering Many" or "Intercessary Prayers and Answering Questions for the Faithful Few" just to put a couple of ideas out there.
Got all my flights lined up for Spain, England, Italy, and Germany. That is a huge burden off my shoulders. It is done PTL!
What is everyone up to today?
Is there anyone out there who is alive and well?

I'm thinking of starting a new blog. I'm thinking about trying typepad. Andrew Jones tells me that it's really easy inserting pictures. If I had him nearby I wouldn't need it but I don't.
I'm thinking about blogging as the first Jewish Mother Missionary to the Nations with a prayer line or ask me anything page. What do you think? I liked that ask Bubby blogsite. Why not ask the proverbial Jewish Mother blogsite. You know I never heard from Bubby. That's a shame. I know that my Bubby would have answered.
Having just finished making our flight plans to Genoa and Hanover from London I feel completely spent. Do you know how much the taxes are from Stanstead. The flight could be 9 pounds then you spend another 30 pounds in taxes. They get you coming and going. But what is the alternative? One could drive, one could hitch, one could take the train, one could not go. God will make a way when there seems to be no way. He works in ways we can not see, He will make a way for you and me. Those are actually the words of a song. The song itself I can't remember. Yet it is comforting.
I will tell you more about the upcoming mission trip to Spain, England, and Italy. We have to take a couple of days in Germany to visit Jan's mother who has requested our company. She called Jan and told him she didn't have too much time left. (Do you think she's Jewish?)
Nevertheless, we are making our plans and getting our ducks in a row. Keep us in your prayers.

Up today and feeling better. I think it takes one day per week to catch up with all the things one leaves behind when you go on missions. So, yesterday I tried to catch up with mail, phone calls, e-mails, unpacking, etc.
I feel a bit more organized and together. I'm still coasting off my Jamaican spiritual high. "It's all good" as a young Jamaican cook told me last week at Breezes in Montego Bay. I'm using his line all the time. Keep repeating it "it's all good". It works!
So, another Jamaican story. Oh! I have a good one. Second day we were having our medical clinic at the orphanage in Christiana. It was right after lunch and the lines were still long. I asked all the people still waiting to join me in a prayer circle outside the clinic. We all joined hands and sang Amazing Grace. It is wonderful, that singing connects people and changes the spiritual climate of a situtation. Where there was pain, anxiety, frustration, confusion, and general tension all those things drift away and peace replaces them. It is a gift from GOD. Then we prayed and we all prayed together, mightily beseeching God for His healing hand.
I was reading from Mel's book "Walk with Me" a line that said "We treat, God heals." It was perfect. God does heal, and the peace of God which knows no boundaries permeated the place and even inside the doctors said I could feel the peace, I experienced the change in atmosphere. I heard you singing. It was good.

It's like a treasure hunt.

Started blogging today but lost it. Hit the draft button but don't expect it to be saved. Or at least it didn't for me.
I'm back and I'm blogging my medical missions trip to Jamaica. Wow! What can I say. It was the best yet. I just downloaded Photoshop and I think in time I can figure out where on the web I can post my pictures. For one picture is worth a thousand words. I have one picture that is of a doctor and his patient with a nurse practitioner behind him. Both are listening to his chest with the night sky descending upon them high up in the Jamaican mountains, the sky is beautiful behind and above them.
It was fantastic if I do say so myself. It spoke of everything missions is about for me at least. God bringing people from one side of the world to take care of others who love Him on the other side of the world. Even those who do not know Him yet, He still cares, He still calls.
Three days at the medical clinic was wonderful. We saw so many different types of cases. Some of which I have photographed for the records for no one was sure what it was we were looking at. Looks like this, could be that, but what is it? Is there a specialist in the house? So, we took pictures and hopefully we will know for the next trip.
All the children at the orphanage were so happy. It impresses me just how much everyone was smiling. Just how happy everyone was to serve.
In the middle of my trip I was reading a book "Come Walk with Me" by Mel Cheatham. Get it, read it, feel it. I cried all the way through it and I'm still not finished with it. World Medical Missions sent it to me. Thank you World Medical Missions. Is there a call to Africa LORD? I know I want to see the children, the aids children this summer GOD WILLING! Or better yet GOD PROVIDING.
I have to get these pictures up on the web. I sent it to Jessica and Andrew. But Andrew's pictures came back. I guess his e-mail has changed or the file was too big. I think 3 megs, but worth it! Maybe Jess you could send him a few.
We also stopped off for a couple of days at TeamworkCheck out their website. A fantastic place for the weary Christian traveler in Montego Bay.
I didn't really tell you too much about my trip. But maybe tomorrow is another installment. Please wait.
Pray that I find out an address for my pictures. If anyone has any ideas how to post them to the web please tell me.

Today I woke up and the earth was covered with new white powered snow covering ever single this that it touch. The snow casts a new light when the sun shines on it in the morning. It is quite beautiful.
I have to go out and dig out my car. I'm getting the courage up to face the elements. I'm off to Jamaica tomorrow morning. Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica you are only a day away. I remember that ad that showed several years ago "Florida, I need it bad!"
My body needs some warmth.
I'm sending lots of hugs out there to the countless people who are hug starved. Mom Milner is sending you a big bear hug not a little hug but a great big meaningful bear hug. Have a blessed day.

This may be the last blog before I'm off to Jamaica on Tuesday morning. I had such a nice Valentine's Day. I hope you all did too. Sometimes, love and blessings are just appreciating the little things in life, as I observe children often do. Let's play more, let's laugh more!
It's 8:46am on Sunday. I'm off to church. We as a church are doing the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. If you haven't read it, it's a must for everyone's spiritual journey. We are valuable in God's Kingdom. It says we have a purpose and we were created to love God and love each other. It's finding out our purpose, our spiritual shape, our abilities and giftings that's where the challenge rests. I think it rests on us not only to find that out but to be available when God wants to use us. We must be risk takers for God willing to go where He wants us to and do what He asks us to do.
When I come back next week. I think I'm going to put my testimony online. I was asked by a couple of people to do that. I actually did a 20 page testimony for Christian Women's Clubs. But that was three computers ago and it's got lost in transition. So, I must start at the beginning. Oh! Then there was my testimony for the Southern Baptist Mission Board. And that seems to have lost its way as well. So, I guess I'll give you the short version when I come back. Just a couple of pages but enough to know me better. Stay tuned, it's coming.
Have a great week. Keep me in your prayers. It's Jan's birthday on Thursday. Call him or e-mail him and say hello.

Off to Jamaica on Tuesday for medical missions. I was there last year, to the orphanage high up on the hills above Montego Bay in a little town called Christiana. About a 2 1/2 hour journey straight up with lots of curves and bumps thrown in for good measure. I'm off for a week so there will be a weeks silence. I won't be able to get to a computer so I will have to tell you the outcome when I arrive back.
But I have an idea what we will be doing. We typically see several hundred elderly patients all who are chronically ill. If there is an optometrist or such out there who has a couple of days we need you badly. Most of the men and women have cataracts or they need a new prescription for their lenses. Most can't see. They have chronic problems like heart disease, diabetes, and disorders of the respiratory system to name a few. We see the children as well.
The children are all smiles, most laughing, all needing a hug, a kiss, some warmth, some tenderness, some intimacy. It sounds like the rest of us. So, Mom Milner is off to the wild blue yonder.
Tomorrow is Valentines Day. I just saw on the biography station just who St. Valentines was and that he was killed for marrying Christian couples in Ireland a long time ago. Interesting how we change the meaning of something to suit ourselves. Usually Madison Avenue has something to do with it and their vested interests. $5.00 for a Valentine's Day Card. I think I have a resentment. I'll have to pray about that.
Well I'm off. I'm wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. Be happy that we don't face the persecution that others face just by admitting we believe.

I can not believe it's been more than a week since I last blogged. But at least it's better than a month. Bubby never got back to me. I received a generic e-mail that said if Bubby likes what you say she'll get back to you, or something to that effect.
I was on Jessica's blogsite yesterday and she was talking about the human touch and how much we need it. Not in a sexual way but in a loving and nurturing way. My love language is touch so I can relate. When I can touch, hug, kiss, hold, and play I take to opportunity. I think in this day and age sometimes you must be the initiator and not wait on other people to hug you first. I've never seen a hug rejected. I witnessed some ice cold people when I hugged them but that's their problem. 99% of the human race are great huggers. They love to be hugged. People long to be hugged.
There is an elderly man in my church and he has a hug ministry. He passes out a piece of paper which tells of the many benefits of being hugged, then he urges you to hug someone. Pretty good I say!
Africa, I'm still praying about Africa. I see many mothers being gathered for many orphaned children. Who will take care of them if not us? God raise up an army of mothers who are willing to mother many. Even for a season. Mother's who have had children and now they are grown, mothers who have never had the blessing of children but still have a mother's heart. Mother's who are willing to include others into their families. Their hearts are not too small. Call them God, call them to the orphans one by one please.
