Off to Jamaica on Tuesday for medical missions. I was there last year, to the orphanage high up on the hills above Montego Bay in a little town called Christiana. About a 2 1/2 hour journey straight up with lots of curves and bumps thrown in for good measure. I'm off for a week so there will be a weeks silence. I won't be able to get to a computer so I will have to tell you the outcome when I arrive back.

But I have an idea what we will be doing. We typically see several hundred elderly patients all who are chronically ill. If there is an optometrist or such out there who has a couple of days we need you badly. Most of the men and women have cataracts or they need a new prescription for their lenses. Most can't see. They have chronic problems like heart disease, diabetes, and disorders of the respiratory system to name a few. We see the children as well.

The children are all smiles, most laughing, all needing a hug, a kiss, some warmth, some tenderness, some intimacy. It sounds like the rest of us. So, Mom Milner is off to the wild blue yonder.

Tomorrow is Valentines Day. I just saw on the biography station just who St. Valentines was and that he was killed for marrying Christian couples in Ireland a long time ago. Interesting how we change the meaning of something to suit ourselves. Usually Madison Avenue has something to do with it and their vested interests. $5.00 for a Valentine's Day Card. I think I have a resentment. I'll have to pray about that.

Well I'm off. I'm wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. Be happy that we don't face the persecution that others face just by admitting we believe.
