Betel Ministries Newsletter
Journey on Missions with Jan and Susan Milner
Well it looks like we are off and running. On March 15th we are heading to Madrid to work with the Betel Ministries. Betel is a drug rehabilitation program. In 1983 a small group of WEC missionaries involved in street evangelism became aware of the huge number of drug addicts in San Blass, a suburb with the highest crime rate in Madrid, Spain. This group challenged the workers and ministry commenced with only a few people involved. A vision of a WEC rehabilitation center was born! In 1985 Betel's residential rehabilitation program began. Since then, Betel ministries have flourished in Spain, England, other parts of Europe, and the world. The passion and vibrancy in the church is electrifying. Many have been freed from the bondage of addiction and gained eternal life through forgiveness of sin. Though death from AIDS and other diseases is a constant reality, the Lord Jesus Christ is their joy, strength, and salvation. Please visit their website at: www.betel.org but it is in Spanish yet the pictures are self explanatory.
We will be helping in the antique stores, with furniture restoration, and in the charity shops. Jan will be assisting in appraisals and placing art and antiques in the best markets to achieve the best prices possible. I will be giving my testimony, praying, possibly teaching and helping in any way I can.
Now most of you have joined us in prayer for past mission trips. I would like to share some of our concerns with you. Maybe you can paste this to your refrigerator as a reminder to pray for us until the 6th April. For God’s will, purpose, and pleasure to be achieved through us. For traveling mercies as we go to Spain, England, Italy and Germany. For our luggage to be safe and flight connections to be on time. For God’s strength, help, and protection on us and on all we leave behind. For good health and the opportunities to share the gospel. For many to come to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For Jan and me to know God’s will not only on our trip but confirmation thereafter. For God to smile!
All you men please keep Jan uplifted especially. I think it’s a great cover when a man prays for another man.
If I can think of any other prayer requests I will send them on to you. I will try to e-mail you from Europe. I look forward to getting some great pictures as I’m taking my digital camera. I will miss all of you. Thanks for sharing the burdens and concerns in prayer.
Love,
Susan and Jan Milner
