The Assistance League of Charlotte raised over $50,000 to help underprivlidged children in Charlotte by feeding, clothing, and counseling during last Saturday's Gala at the South Park Hyatt. Plan to come next year. You never know who will be there. Posted by Picasa

Just came back from attending the solar thermal biodisel fuel class at NC State University. I feel like a pioneer in a new industry which affects every single person on the face of the earth.
Anyone interested in starting a private hedge fund with a social conscious aimed towards advancing sustainable energy projects? If so, please get in touch with me.

Today was Zechariah 9-11.
It's all deep stuff.
But sometimes you can gleam a simple truth.
The truth I would like to share is:
We have a tendency to do things in our own strength rather than in the power of the Lord. This inclination can leave us feeling overwhelmed and weary. (So if you are feeling overwhelmed or weary you might want to redirect your efforts, look up, pray and relax in God's strength rather than your own.
Zechariah is a good teaching tool to learn that apart from GOD'S help we are ineffective in whatever we try to do for Him. He gets all the glory, He supplies all that we need. Don't run yourself ragged. Rely on GOD!

By blog has gone astray. Something happened I think I might have to republish it. I don't know all I see is a blank space when I bring it up. The information I publish is there but you have to know to scroll down otherwise you could think that it is a blank page. Which might not be a bad idea considering we are a blank page if we ask Jesus into our lives.
I was reading Ps. 86 today and the first four verses really spoke to my spirit.
I'll paste it up here and maybe you'll be blessed.
Psalm 86
A prayer of David.
1 Bend down, O LORD, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help.
2 Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God.
3 Be merciful, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly.
4 Give me happiness, O Lord, for my life depends on you.
5 O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask your aid.
6 Listen closely to my prayer, O LORD; hear my urgent cry.
7 I will call to you whenever trouble strikes, and you will answer me.
8 Nowhere among the pagan gods is there a god like you, O Lord. There are no other miracles like yours.
9 All the nations--and you made each one-- will come and bow before you, Lord; they will praise your great and holy name.
10 For you are great and perform great miracles. You alone are God.
11 Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, that I may honor you.
12 With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever,
13 for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death[a]!
14 O God, insolent people rise up against me; violent people are trying to kill me. And you mean nothing to them.
15 But you, O Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, slow to get angry, full of unfailing love and truth.
16 Look down and have mercy on me. Give strength to your servant; yes, save me, for I am your servant.
17 Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me.

Here I am getting ready to take my Solar Thermal course at the Solar Center up at NC State University http://www.ncsc.ncsu.edu/. The name of the course is Managing Solar Thermal/Biofuels: Renewable Energy Technologies Diploma Series. After next week I will have a wealth of knowledge in the area of solar technology, an area that I have a great interest in.
I also have an interest in educating this generation coming up. Giving them a passion about sustainable energy alternatives. Thinking about taking care of their planet and enviroment while having fun. A solar car olympics up in Boone NC for Jr. High School kids might be one of the ways for initiating interest.
We have to do something about reducing our energy bills personally and as a nation. If you have any ideas please share it with me.

I'm in an interesting book of the Bible Zechariah.
Zechariah 1
A Call to Return to the LORD
1In midautumn[a] of the second year of King Darius's reign, the LORD gave this message to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo.
2"I, the LORD, was very angry with your ancestors. 3Therefore, say to the people, `This is what the LORD Almighty says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD Almighty.' 4Do not be like your ancestors who would not listen when the earlier prophets said to them, `This is what the LORD Almighty says: Turn from your evil ways and stop all your evil practices.'
5"Your ancestors and their prophets are now long dead. 6But all the things I said through my servants the prophets happened to your ancestors, just as I said they would. As a result, they repented and said, `We have received what we deserved from the LORD Almighty. He has done what he said he would do.'"

A Man among the Myrtle Trees 7Then on February 15[b] of the second year of King Darius's reign, the LORD sent another message to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo. Zechariah said:
8In a vision during the night, I saw a man sitting on a red horse that was standing among some myrtle trees in a small valley. Behind him were red, brown, and white horses, each with its own rider. 9I asked the angel who was talking with me, "My lord, what are all those horses for?"
"I will show you," the angel replied.
10So the man standing among the myrtle trees explained, "They are the ones the LORD has sent out to patrol the earth."
11Then the other riders reported to the angel of the LORD, who was standing among the myrtle trees, "We have patrolled the earth, and the whole earth is at peace."
12Upon hearing this, the angel of the LORD prayed this prayer: "O LORD Almighty, for seventy years now you have been angry with Jerusalem and the towns of Judah. How long will it be until you again show mercy to them?" 13And the LORD spoke kind and comforting words to the angel who talked with me.
14Then the angel said to me, "Shout this message for all to hear: `This is what the LORD Almighty says: My love for Jerusalem and Mount Zion is passionate and strong. 15But I am very angry with the other nations that enjoy peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations punished them far beyond my intentions.
16" `Therefore, this is what the LORD says: I have returned to show mercy to Jerusalem. My Temple will be rebuilt, says the LORD Almighty, and plans will be made for the reconstruction of Jerusalem.[c]' 17Say this also: `This is what the LORD Almighty says: The towns of Israel will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem as his own.' "

Four Horns and Four Blacksmiths 18Then I looked up and saw four animal horns. 19"What are these?" I asked the angel who was talking with me.
He replied, "These horns represent the world powers that scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem."
20Then the LORD showed me four blacksmiths. 21"What are these men coming to do?" I asked.
The angel replied, "The blacksmiths have come to terrify the four horns that scattered and humbled Judah. They will throw them down and destroy them."

A call to return to the LORD and He will return to us!
He is still calling out our names, saying come back to me. Leave your ways, those ways that are self destructive, that are not working, that are ending up with you in the pig pen of life. Are you willing? Are you even willing to be willing? Ask God to help you. Call out to Him. Say here I am messed up, broken, battered, bruised, cracked, needy, suffering, depressed, addicted, or whatever the need is, then say take me I'm yours. Do with me as You see fit. You will be amazed what will happen.
