Reading about Jacob's faith regarding God's promises really makes me feel confident that GOD does what He says He is going to do despite our circumstances. No matter what the difficulty may be GOD can and will do what He says He's going to do.
In Gen. 47:27-30 We see Jacob's absolute confidence that God will one day take his descendants back to Canaan and also give them the land for an everlasting inheritance. (Compare Gen. 48:4 with 17:8.) Jacob is certain that his descendants will inherit the land as if they already do. THAT'S FAITH, LORD GIVE ME THAT UNWAVERING, UNFALTERING, CONFIDENT FAITH.
Then earlier in the chapter it Gen. 46:8 - 47:10
One is reminded of God's registration of all who belong to Him. His desire to separate us from the world yet protect and provide for us no matter where we are.
In Rev. 20:15 It talks about the Lamb's Book of Life. It is even more important that our names are written there. Are you sure that you're name is? Have you made your deliberate choice to receive Him forever as your Savior from sin, Lord of your life? If so, your name is written in the Lambs book of life. (Rev. 13:8) According to the promises of the Bible, you can know this for sure. (See John 1:12 -13, 5:24, 6:37; Eph. 1:13-14.)
