God has a set time for things, for answers, for solutions, for us.
A sacred season, a devine timeclock, a set time for answers.
Am I willing to wait?
I was in Is 58 today
6"No, the kind of fasting I want calls you to free those who are wrongly imprisoned and to stop oppressing those who work for you. Treat them fairly and give them what they earn. 7I want you to share your food with the hungry and to welcome poor wanderers into your homes. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
8"If you do these things, your salvation will come like the dawn. Yes, your healing will come quickly. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the LORD will protect you from behind. 9Then when you call, the LORD will answer. `Yes, I am here,' he will quickly reply.
"Stop oppressing the helpless and stop making false accusations and spreading vicious rumors! 10Feed the hungry and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as day. 11The LORD will guide you continually, watering your life when you are dry and keeping you healthy, too. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. 12Your children will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as the people who rebuild their walls and cities.
13"Keep the Sabbath day holy. Don't pursue your own interests on that day, but enjoy the Sabbath and speak of it with delight as the LORD's holy day. Honor the LORD in everything you do, and don't follow your own desires or talk idly. If you do this, 14the LORD will be your delight. I will give you great honor and give you your full share of the inheritance I promised to Jacob, your ancestor. I, the LORD, have spoken!"
Tell me what speaks to your spirit and why.
With love,
Mommilner

Submissive to the Lord's timing was today's question.
God warned Habakkus "you must be patient" What I am about to tell you is a vision, that has an appinted time to come to fulfulment. Don't try to rush it just relax in knowing that it will not fail.
God also commands us to wait. As He reveals His plans for us, offers challenges, and convictions from His Word, and even gives us keen devine insight into our future, we must first submit to the wait.
Waiting can be difficult.
Today I felt like a pin cushion.
Won't go into details but ducked and dived about 100 darts. Some left flesh wounds. Keep me uplifted today.

Going to meet Alexandra at Steele Creek Church for the 12 noon service. She's coming with her young adult Sunday School class from Winston-Salem to experience the Steele Creek worship service, which is an experience. Then we're all going out for lunch. She's off to the Big Apple next Friday morning with about 150+ high school kids who are using their voices and talents to make a difference in the Apple. GO CALVARY CHOIR! I think you can check out their progress on Calvary's website www.calvarynow.com Go to ministries, music ministry, senior high school choir, then they should be posting video everyday. Stay tuned the adventure starts next Friday. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
What does it actually mean to delight in? Here is a way to find out what the word in the original Hebrew was. I am enclosing a link at the bottom of the page. This is very cool. I first discovered Strongs Bible Dictionary when I went to Piedmont Bible College. It is a great tool for anyone who wants to dig deeper.

How can you have joy in the midst of a storm?
Is it possible?
That's what my reading was about this morning.
Taking a few people in the Bible and seeing what their problem was.
What did they do in the midst of their storm?
Abraham - Genesis 22:2
Jeremiah - Jeremiah 1:5-7
David - 1 Sam. 17 41-44, 19: 9-10
Paul and Silas - Acts 16:22 -23
Mary - Luke 1:28-34
Esther - Esther 7: 3-4
What is your storm?
What will you do?
Mine was to stay or to run.
To do it God's way or my way.
To hide or to stand firm.
To flee or to fight the fight.
To be happy or to be overcome by depression, despair, fear, worry and grief. (to name a few)
To blog or not to blog that is the question!
What is your trail today?
Look up the Greek word trail in James. Do a word study and see if you find something very interesting about it.

Are you ever prompted to do something? Well I feel that God really wants me to blog my morning devotions. Maybe someone somewhere will profit from them. I usually blog something that speaks to my spirit on that particular day.
Today's reading is all about submitting to the LORD'S assignment for our lives. Yesterday when I was at Calvary's Tuesday morning women's bible study 9:30 a.m. Rae Road and 51 for anyone living in Charlotte. Check out their website for a wealth of studies for everyone. As I was viewing this weeks video Priscilla Shirer said something that I wrote down and want to share. She said "The level I submit to others in authority is an indication of how we will submit to our Heavenly Father." It was food for spiritual thought. I had to do a check on myself for I have had a challenge in the past with submission. Have you? I pray that I will have a servants heart. A heart like Jesus. Willing to get out of my comfort zone, willing to endure to serve, not only talking the talk but walking the walk. Those were some of the highlights of yesterday's video.
Back to today's study. One of the questions asked "What gifts has God given you that make that position/job you are doing a good fit?" I thought about my spiritual: encouragement, faith, teaching, sheperding, motivating, and envisioning. How am I using those gifts for God's glory? How are you using your gifts. Do you know what they are? If you don't there are books and websites that will give you a test for you to determine what some of them might be. Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem gave everyone a two page questioneer and we filled it out in Sunday School. I bet if you asked them they might e-mail you one or tell you where to go. Lifeway Bookstores is another reliable resource if you want to find a book on your spiritual gifts.
One of the last statements in today's study was "God has invited us to be part of something great. Our duty is to participate in what He has planned."

Back fro RDU after being away overnight. Got caught in the storm but was inside for the most part. It feels good to sleep in your own bed.
Today's study talked about hearing God's voice and the truth that His voice must be in agreement with His Word. Without knowing His Word it is impossible to really discern His voice with all security. So read His Word from beginning to end. That way you can make sure you're hearing from Him and not from your own desires.

The morning is better than the night usually. I wonder why? I guess I'm tired, weary, and not as prayed up in the night than when I get up in the morning.
As I was doing my study this morning, it spoke about the snowball effect of emotions. One of the questions asked: "Pick two of the following emotions you have experienced and describe how the snowball effect can cause them to grow."
Worry Anger Grief Loneliness Shame Frustration Resentment Depression
I picked the first two. Not to say I'm not battling with all of these emotions from time to time.
It is amazing that when you let your emotions have control they tend to go into a free fall. So, you might ask what does my study say to do. It lists some verses and tells us what God says to individuals who were going through similar times.
Gen 15:1, Deu 31:6, 1 Chron 28:20, Is. 41:13
Todays study ends with "TAKING ACTION"
Be honest with God about your feelings. Instead of allowing your emotions to steer you away from God, purposefully turn your attention to the LORD in times of intense emotional distress. Tell Him your struggles and ask Him to reveal His perspective and power.
Talk to the LORD about any all consuming emotions you are experiencing. As Him to help you be emotionally still so your actions can be controlled by what you know to be true rather than by what you feel.

Not to worry and runaway emotions were two topics that I have been studying about lately. Worry has been plagueing me. Yesterday I was admonished not to worry. Jesus actually commands us not to worry. Did you know that. I have definately been filled with worry over the last couple of months. It feels like a millstone around my neck at times. When I look up and keep looking up. Not at my circumstances but at the LORD who can do all things I feel at peace, at least for the moment. But when I look down at my situation I start to sink into depression and saddness. One of today's questions asked "What emotions do you struggle to keep under control? Emotions do serve us in many ways. One of the ways they serve us is as a window into our minds and hearts. They reveal what we believe.
Here are some verses that spoke to my spirit yesterday. They all seem geared to my worrying heart.
In Luke 12:22 Jesus teaches about money & possessions
22Then turning to his disciples, Jesus said, "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life--whether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. 23For life consists of far more than food and clothing. 24Look at the ravens. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! 25Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not! 26And if worry can't do little things like that, what's the use of worrying over bigger things?
27"Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 28And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith! 29And don't worry about food--what to eat and drink. Don't worry whether God will provide it for you. 30These things dominate the thoughts of most people, but your Father already knows your needs. 31He will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
32"So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.
33"Sell what you have and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven have no holes in them. Your treasure will be safe--no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it. 34Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.

Sometimes I think why am I blogging? No one reads my blog. Is this all a waste of time? Then someone calls me Stacy from Hope of Israel called yesterday and said "Susan, I have just spent the last hour and a half reading your blog. I didn't know you before, but now I feel like I really know you". Wow! What encourgement for me to continue blogging. I know there is a spiritual nugget in there. Must be, don't give up. You never know when what you say or do will bear fruit. Probably other nuggets as well.
I don't know if I've blogged about Jan's illness or not. But he is very sick. I need your prayers. I won't go into details but just know the systems and organs that are not working properly, his heart, his circulatory system, his lungs, his liver, and they may be more that I'm not aware of at this point. Please pray that he would be part of the solution and not part of the problem. That he would give up smoking completely with God's power to overcome. That God would heal him and put him back together again, a bit like Humpty Dumpty. That he would minister to others through this and because of this illness. Thank you thank you thank you.
