Are you ever prompted to do something? Well I feel that God really wants me to blog my morning devotions. Maybe someone somewhere will profit from them. I usually blog something that speaks to my spirit on that particular day.
Today's reading is all about submitting to the LORD'S assignment for our lives. Yesterday when I was at Calvary's Tuesday morning women's bible study 9:30 a.m. Rae Road and 51 for anyone living in Charlotte. Check out their website for a wealth of studies for everyone. As I was viewing this weeks video Priscilla Shirer said something that I wrote down and want to share. She said "The level I submit to others in authority is an indication of how we will submit to our Heavenly Father." It was food for spiritual thought. I had to do a check on myself for I have had a challenge in the past with submission. Have you? I pray that I will have a servants heart. A heart like Jesus. Willing to get out of my comfort zone, willing to endure to serve, not only talking the talk but walking the walk. Those were some of the highlights of yesterday's video.
Back to today's study. One of the questions asked "What gifts has God given you that make that position/job you are doing a good fit?" I thought about my spiritual: encouragement, faith, teaching, sheperding, motivating, and envisioning. How am I using those gifts for God's glory? How are you using your gifts. Do you know what they are? If you don't there are books and websites that will give you a test for you to determine what some of them might be. Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem gave everyone a two page questioneer and we filled it out in Sunday School. I bet if you asked them they might e-mail you one or tell you where to go. Lifeway Bookstores is another reliable resource if you want to find a book on your spiritual gifts.
One of the last statements in today's study was "God has invited us to be part of something great. Our duty is to participate in what He has planned."
