Wow what a birthday day I had yesterday. I really felt loved. It started in the morning when I read Alexandra's card which made me cry. I want her card read at my funeral. It was a heartfelt affirmation which was sweet to my spirit. My cousin Ann wrote me a card, my friend Cecil wrote a poem which only he could make up, another friend from Bible study sent a card Jean, who is an encourager by nature.
Then phone calls, my prayer partners at 6-8 am, my daughter Alexandra, my cousin Ann, all filling my love tank.
I was running late and arrived to my 9:30 Bible study a bit after 10:00 am to Happy Birthday well wishes. At lunchtime it was lunch with the girls at my favorite restaurant The Gallery at Ballantyne Resorts. Eighteen godly women celebrating birthdays and praying for each other over the years really make an impact on your life. We share the joys and the challenges. Lot's of presents, cards, and well wishes abounded. My friend Linda who's birthday we also celebrated read my card out loud and we had several laughs along the way with various renditions of Happy Birthday highlighted by BJ imitating Marilyn Monroe's version for President Kennedy.
Afterwards I went across the street to pick up a necklace from the corner cupboard shop that was amazing. Imagine a silver metal rope necklace but the metal is pliable. You can scrunch it and model it anyway you want. I must find the manufacturer. It is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Maybe I'll just go over there today and write down the label off another item. I just tried to google it but to no avail.
I got home at about 4:00 pm. I hadn't told Jan that we were going out at 5:00 pm to Kathy's for dinner because she didn't want me to cook on my birthday. But Jan was there with smiles on his face. He wrote me a beautiful card and there appeared one of the biggest orchard plants I have ever seen.
I caught up on some phone calls, emails, facebook notes and it was time to go to Kathy's. She made a lovely dinner and we ate with her Dad and had a lively conversation. Kathy gave me a beautiful pearl necklace set made of natural pearls which was so very generous and sweet. It reminded me of my mom who's name is Pearl.
Today we're off for lunch at the Art Institute to celebrate my birthday some more. So, now you can see why I felt so loved and the love continues........
